One-to-one maths tuition
A little room to work it out.
Maths makes more sense when there is time to ask why. Explore a worked example, then shape a lesson around the part that feels stuck.
Work it through
Same balance. Clearer thinking.
Start with 3x + 6 = 21. Every change we make on one side, we make on the other.
Step 1 of 3
3x + 6 = 21
We begin with the equation as given. The x we want is tangled up with a plus 6 and a multiplier of 3. Our job is to peel those away, one balanced move at a time.
Your starting point
Not more worksheets. The right next question.
Bring the topic that is slowing you down. We will look at how you approach it, not just whether the answer is right.
- Fractions and percentages
- Compare quantities, simplify fractions and connect them to percentages.
- Algebra
- Build confidence with expressions, equations and checking solutions.
- Word problems
- Turn a written problem into a drawing, a calculation and a sentence that answers it.
Session formats
| Session | Length | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Focus session | 45 minutes | One specific idea, looked at slowly until it settles. |
| Weekly practice | 60 minutes | Explanation, guided questions and independent work. |
Hi, I’m Maya. Let’s leave space for the why.
I teach maths through small, visible steps. We sketch the problem, talk through the choices and check what the answer means. If a method does not click, we try another explanation.
Before your first lesson. Bring one recent piece of work, a pencil and the question you wished you had asked in class. Online lessons need a stable connection and somewhere quiet to write. A parent or guardian should arrange lessons for students under 18.
